The second edition of News From Tehran is presented in May 2004 in Éatblisment d’en face in Brussels as part of the Kunstenfestivaldesarts. It is a one-week event with a film program, performances, a lecture and the launch of the second issue of Pages magazine 'Play & Location'. The central event in this edition is a performance series by the Tehran-based performance group Arta, developed in close collaboration with Pages. The subject of the performances is Tehran itself and are inspired by the current discussions around the relocation of the capital city due to predictions of a massive earth quake. Titled ‘Here Nothing Will Ever Happen’ the performances take the form of a ‘fictive’ workshop speculating on the evacuation of a defamiliarised city, while questioning the artists’ own presence within it.
