About this platform

This platform is the online expansion from the publishing work of Pages, the bilingual, Farsi and English, artist magazine we initiated in 2004. While it stores Pages’ back issues and documents the projects we develop parallel to the magazine, this platform operates primarily as a working space, concerned with rethinking the politics and practice of archiving and publishing. It approaches publishing as a collective practice of generating an open, permeable archive. The platforms is developed along ongoing contributions by authors, varying between essays, fiction series, artists projects, archival material and translations. With minimum editorial mediation, the platform offers direct access to invited authors to publish their contributions, while making them instantly accessible to the reader. The central tool facilitating this is the automated mailing system which authors use to upload, edit and expand on their contributions. As authors revise and develop their contributions, past and new versions are kept alongside each other. Equally, readers can automatically receive the online contents by sending command emails to the platform. This automated email system makes the content of the platform both manageable and accessible at all times. For further information about how you can request the online content via email, please send an email containing "guideline" to pagesplatform[at]gmail[dot]com.
