Maxi Obexer is a writer, playwright, and curator based in Berlin. She studied comparative literature, philosophy, and theater in Vienna and Berlin. Her award-winning plays—including Das Geisterschiff, Die Liebenden, and Illegale Helfer—have been translated and staged internationally. Her novel Europas längster Sommer was nominated for the Bachmann Prize (2017), and her 2024 radioplay Im Auge des Sturms was named Radio Play of the Year. Obexer’s work also explores human-animal relations, including her recent novel Unter Tieren (Weissbooks, 2024).
