Athena Farrokhzad (b.1983, Tehran), is a poet, playwright, translator and critic. She lives in Stockholm and is the head of literature at The House of Culture. Her published collections of poetry: Vitsvit (2013), Trado (2016), I rörelse (2019) and Åsnans år (2022) have been translated into fifteen languages. She has translated poets such as Audre Lorde, Adrienne Rich, Juliana Spahr and Natalie Diaz into Swedish. Her plays have been staged at theatres in Sweden, Norway, Germany and Turkey.
